Kaizer Chiefs have officially appointed Cedric Kaze as the new assistant coach to Nasreddine Nabi, following the departure of Fernando da Cruz. Kaze, who previously worked alongside Nabi at Tanzanian club Young Africans, is expected to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Amakhosi technical team.
Cedric Kaze Reunites with Nasreddine Nabi
Cedric Kaze and Nasreddine Nabi have a strong working relationship, having collaborated successfully at Young Africans, where they led the team to multiple victories. Kaze, a respected tactician from Burundi, is known for his sharp analytical skills and strategic insights, which have proven effective in competitive leagues across Africa. His reunion with Nabi at Kaizer Chiefs is anticipated to strengthen the club’s coaching team, bringing a familiar synergy that could be pivotal for Chiefs as they aim for domestic and continental success.
Background on Cedric Kaze’s Career
Kaze began his coaching career in his home country of Burundi, where he quickly made a name for himself as a forward-thinking coach with a deep understanding of the game. His success led him to Tanzania, where he joined Young Africans as an assistant coach. Together with Nabi, Kaze played a key role in leading Young Africans to victory in the Tanzanian Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup. Kaze’s ability to develop players and implement effective game plans has made him a valuable asset in African football.
Fernando da Cruz’s Departure
The appointment of Kaze follows the departure of Fernando da Cruz, who served as an assistant coach at Kaizer Chiefs. Da Cruz’s exit has opened up an opportunity for Kaze to step into the role and reunite with Nabi, who expressed confidence in Kaze’s capabilities. While da Cruz’s tenure was marked by efforts to enhance the team’s tactical approach, his departure comes amid a period of transition for Chiefs as they seek to rebuild and strengthen their squad under Nabi’s leadership.
“Coach Cedric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the game throughout his coaching career,” said Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. “His familiarity with coach Nabi’s methods and their proven partnership will be invaluable as we aim for excellence on the pitch.”
Amakhosi believe that Kaze’s addition will enhance the technical team’s capabilities, driving the players to reach new heights and solidifying the Club’s position as a top contender in the league.
