By Sello Masilo
Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the signing of Bradley Cross, a talented 23-year-old defender, on a four-year deal from Golden Arrows. This acquisition marks a significant addition to Amakhosi’s squad as they gear up for the upcoming Betway Premiership season.
Bradley Cross, who has a versatile playing style, has previously showcased his skills in Europe, having been part of Schalke 04’s Under-19 team in Germany and later captaining Newcastle United’s U21 and U23 teams in England. His journey through these prestigious clubs has equipped him with international experience and a solid defensive skill set that Kaizer Chiefs are eager to integrate into their team.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr., expressed his excitement about the signing, stating that Cross’s addition aligns with the club’s strategic vision of strengthening their squad to compete at the highest level. Motaung Jr. emphasized that Cross brings not only energy and international experience but also a strong defensive presence, which will be vital for the team’s objectives this season.
Bradley Cross himself shared his enthusiasm about joining the club, saying, “I am honoured to be part of such a prestigious Club. I am ready to give my best and help Kaizer Chiefs achieve their goals and objectives.” Cross is set to join his new teammates immediately as they prepare for the season opener against Marumo Gallants.
Cross’s signing is part of a broader strategy by Kaizer Chiefs to bolster their squad, with several key signings made during the transfer window, including the return of Njabulo Blom on loan. As the club looks forward to the new season, the addition of Cross is expected to enhance their defensive capabilities, providing more options for Coach Nasreddine Nabi.
