Kaizer Chiefs recently made headlines as they issued a statement expressing concern over the contract status of their attacking midfielder, Khama Billiat.

With his contract expired on 30 June 2023, the club tabled a new offer in hopes of retaining the Zimbabwean marksman. Unfortunately, to date, Billiat has not responded to the offer or any attempts to contact the team.

According to the club, the last known whereabouts of Billiat were at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on 29 June. Since then, there has been no communication from the player despite numerous calls and messages from the club.

This situation has left the team in a difficult position. Currently in camp with all other players, Billiat’s absence is conspicuous and raises questions about his commitment to the club and his teammates. The club expressed their disappointment, stating, “Billiat, who is also expected to be here with his teammates, failed to show up and is currently nowhere to be found.”

While the rest of the players are diligently preparing for the upcoming season, the 32-year-old midfielder has seemingly vanished without a trace.

Billiat’s lack of participation in the previous season due to injuries may have contributed to his diminished role at Kaizer Chiefs. In just 12 games across various competitions, he provided three goal assists but failed to find the back of the net himself.

Before joining Kaizer Chiefs in 2018, Billiat achieved great success with Mamelodi Sundowns, winning the CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, and three DStv Premiership titles. However, during his time at Chiefs, he has not secured a single title.

The situation surrounding Khama Billiat remains unclear, leaving fans and the club in a state of perplexity. As Kaizer Chiefs eagerly await a response from the talented midfielder, only time will tell if he will continue wearing the famous gold and black jersey.
