Julius Malema, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), will deliver a public lecture at the University of Pretoria today, 11th October 2024, at 19:00. This event comes after Malema’s recent press conference where he outlined the EFF’s preparation for its 3rd National People’s Assembly, set to take place in December. The lecture will emphasize political education, which Malema considers vital for fostering class consciousness among South Africans.
The EFF is gearing up for a major electoral event, the National People’s Assembly, scheduled for December 12-15, 2024, at the Nasrec Expo Centre. This assembly will be a pivotal moment as the party is set to elect new leadership and outline its strategy for the upcoming years . Malema has stated that the assembly will focus on strengthening the party’s influence across South Africa, with a particular emphasis on economic freedom and structural reforms .
During the press conference, Malema highlighted that political education is a key mechanism for empowering the populace and promoting EFF values. This public lecture at UP will cover crucial topics like economic empowerment, land redistribution, and the role of youth in shaping South Africa’s future. Malema underscored the importance of cultivating a well-informed citizenry capable of challenging inequalities and driving transformative change in the nation.
The EFF’s upcoming assembly will also include discussions on constitutional amendments and revisions to the party’s strategic direction. These changes are part of the EFF’s broader goals to restructure its organizational framework, ensuring it remains robust and capable of meeting new challenges. The party is considering increasing the membership threshold for branches, aiming to foster a larger and more active base of supporters across various communities.
