By Thys Khiba – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said the Soweto Parliament leader Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini lied to the public by suggesting that he is going to assist police officers with arresting him on the day of the national shutdown.
“I’m going to arrest Malema, it’s a lie. My entire family is dead, it’s a lie,” said Malema.
This comes after Dlamini indicated that he will personally arrest Malema if he doesn’t work within the boundaries of the law.
“The law is for everyone to follow, politicians must start being held accountable without fear or favor.
“I will personally arrest Julius Malema on the day of his shutdown if he breaks the law,” said Dlamini.
Meanwhile, Dlamini alleged that EFF members bombed his house in Soweto on Monday.
He claimed that at least two bombs hit his house with one bomb hitting the electric fence and the other one damaging his neighbours’ windows.
While addressing media on Thursday, Malema suggested to the media that it is difficult to believe allegations made by Dlamini.
“Such a serious statement of my entire family is dead, and you still want to ask us about the same person, anything that comes from that mouth has a potential of being a lie.
“This thing that you’re asking us about house that was bombed where the neighbours heard something “boom,” the house fell, you want to reduce us to Netflix now, we don’t make movies, we engage in real struggles,” said Malema.
A case of public violence and malicious damage to property has been opened.
It is alleged that perpetrators used commercial explosives.
Meanwhile, the EFF continued to call for the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa as the head of the state.
The party believes that Ramaphosa is allegedly an incompetent and corrupt leader.
“The road to the removal of Cyril Ramaphosa as President of South Africa has begun and will continue with sporadic protests in demand of his resignation.
“Ramaphosa is corrupt, violent and grossly incompetent, and his continued Presidency will descend South Africa into dictatorship and collapse.”
As the opposition party in Parliament, EFF will be questioning the rationality behind the deployment of members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
“Well you know that we’re in Parliament and we will be questioning the rationality and the deployment of soldiers and the amount of money that is going to be spent on the soldiers that are on the streets now.”
Ramaphosa approved the deployment of more than 3 400 soldiers to protect key buildings and manage the EFF led national shutdown.
