By Thys Khiba – Free State JP4IR Solutions has managed to walk away with three GovTech 2022 awards at the Digital Public Service awards gala event in Durban.
“To be honest we weren’t expecting the awards and as we didn’t know about Govtech until after the nomination, it was a surprise. Also considering that JP4IR started operating in August 2021 and is now attending one of the biggest conferences on the entire continent, it was a great milestone for us,” JP4IR Solutions Operations Manager Moeketsi Ramokone said.

This comes after they have received Digital Education Award,Community Builder Recognition Award and SMME Recognition Award.
A young and dynamic company which specialises in robotics, automation, coding, innovative and efficient problem solving got nominated for SMME Recognition Award, Digital Education Award and Community Builder Recognition Award.
The three awards aims to recognise the achievements of educational institutions for their optimal use of ICT in the education sector, recognises emerging ICT start-ups in the country that have demonstrated revenue growth and created a business model that can thrive in the long term and create more jobs.
JP4IR were also awarded for a significant difference that they have made in the community through ICT and the use of an ICT tool.
“As I walked towards the stage I couldn’t believe what was happening at that moment, overwhelmed with joy. When they first called us in the Digital Education category, I thought it was the end of the night, but the second and third prizes made the evening even more exciting,” Ramone said.
The event took place on the 13 – 17 September 2022 in Durban Exhibition Centre under the theme of ‘Digitisation & Digitalisation.’
The GovTech Conference is an annual ICT event in the SITA event calendar.
It has been reported as a strategic forum that attracts more than 2200 delegates from government, IT industry and civil society.
Delegates are expected to connect, learn, share and collaborate to provide services to South African citizens by giving them ICT solutions and other innovations.
