India on Wednesday reported 38,792 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, data from health ministry showed, with daily deaths rising by 624.
The nation’s cumulative Covid case count is now 3.09 crore and the total toll stands at 4,11,408.
The country also registered 41,000 recoveries in the same period, taking the current active caseload to 4,29,946 cases.
As compared to Tuesday’s figures, more than 7,000 additional fresh cases were registered on Wednesday. On Tuesday, India had reported its lowest daily spike in cases in nearly four months at 31,443.
Meanwhile, under the national vaccination drive, more than 38.76 crore vaccine doses have been administered in India so far. Of these, 37.14 lakh doses were given in the last 24 hours
