In a decisive move to uphold integrity within its ranks, the South African Department of Home Affairs has dismissed 18 officials implicated in various acts of fraud, corruption, and sexual harassment. This action reflects the government’s intensified efforts to cleanse the department of unethical behavior and restore public trust.

Minister Leon Schreiber announced the dismissals as part of a broader initiative to combat corruption within the department. These measures come in response to a series of convictions that highlight ongoing cooperation between Home Affairs, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), and the Hawks.
