The National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Minister Nathi Mthethwa in collaboration with the Free State Provincial Government will officially handover the house of Mama Winnie-Madikizela Mandela, the late liberation icon on Thursday(Today), 08 December 2022.
The official handover will take place in Winnie Mandela, Majwemasweu Township in the Free State province.

“This follows the completion of refurbishment of the historically significant ‘House Number 802’ in Brandfort where the late liberation struggle heroine and stalwart was banished to by the apartheid government. “said Department in a Statement
“With government to effort honor and remember the late Mama Madikizela-Mandela, the government of today restored, and refurbished the iconic dwelling house and bombed clinic, converting them to interpretative spaces, and a multi-purpose centre with an internet hub and Wi-Fi facilities.”
