Johannesburg – Gauteng South African Police Service management released a statement to confirm that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is not a suspect in the opened case of rape.
This is after a news article by Daily Sun titled ‘Mbuyiseni Raped Me’ was published on the 11th of April 2021, according to Daily Sun website. “But Ndlozi, a senior EFF leader, strongly denies the allegations and told Daily Sun he hopes the perpetrator gets caught,” said Daily Sun journalist Amos Mananyetso.
According to the Daily Sun news article, the woman claims he raped her at an upmarket penthouse in Sandton at a party. “Ndlozi has stated he was never at the address where the incident allegedly took place and didn’t know the woman.” The report states that Dr. Ndlozi allegedly raped her in the early hours of Friday morning.

“Police hereby place it on record that the reporter behind this article in reference has not sought the comment of the Gauteng Provincial Head of Corporate Communication on this matter even after he was advised to do so. Instead, Amos Mananyetso went ahead and published his story based on, according to the article, the victim’s statement, a legal and confidential document that can only have been obtained through unlawful and unethical means,” said SAPS Spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters.

Social media, Twitter is currently divided over rape allegations against the EFF leader Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi. The EFF President, Julius Malema has tables his views on the rape allegations matter by saying that ‘the devil is a list.’ Another EFF leader, Naledi Chirwa came to party to say that the Daily Sun journalist must account. “Media keeps giving us reasons to treat them as political animals,” said Chirwa.

“The Daily Sun, which is under News24 and Koos Bekker’s stable of racist and establishment media deliberately defamed Commissar Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, knowing very well that not even an withdrawal of the article will lessen the damage done to his reputation,” said EFF Spokesperson Vuyani Pambo.
The Economic Freedom Fighters says that they will fully support the legal action against the Daily Sun for deliberately, what they call, defaming their leader, Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi through illegally acquired documents.
