Gauteng Police
The Gauteng police are currently offering a cash reward of R50 000 for any information that can assist in the apprehension and conviction of a man linked to 42 cases of rape. The suspect is believed to be operating mainly in Orlando and Diepkloof, Soweto, targeting females ranging from 14 to 53 years old.
The armed suspect confronts his victims in various locations, including the streets, homes, shops, and entertainment areas, where he demands money and cellphones before committing sexual assault. His modus operandi involves coercing the victims into secluded places.
In response to this disturbing crime spree, the police have mobilized significant resources to track down the suspect. They are urging anyone with any information to come forward urgently. Sergeant Ramathavhana, the investigating officer, can be contacted at 079 890 7696. Alternatively, individuals can also reach out to Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the My SAPS App to submit information.
The Gauteng police hope that the R50 000 cash reward will encourage individuals who have any knowledge or leads about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to step forward. Providing any information, no matter how small, could aid in bringing this alleged serial rapist to justice and bringing an end to the fear and trauma experienced by the victims.
