Bloemfontein – Free State Premier Sefora Ntombela has resigned from her position as Free State Premier and a member of Free State Provincial Legislature, she announced on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the Free State Provincial Legislature, Honourable Zanele Sifuba will convene a Special Sitting of the Free State Legislature on Thursday, at 14:15. The Sitting is scheduled to elect the new Premier of the Free State Province.
“Please accept this letter as notification that I am resigning from my position as the member of the Free State Legislature and Premier of the province effective Friday 24 February 2023.” – said Ntombela in a letter written to the ANC Free State Provincial Secretary.
“I want to express my appreciation for the support you and my organisation the ANC, have provided me during my tenure as the member of the Legislature and Premier of the Province.”
“Together we have done our best in difficult circumstances to meet the expectations of our people.”
“I wish the in-coming Premier and my beloved ANC all the best in the task that lies ahead.”
”I remain available and committed to our revolutionary goals and ready to serve in any deployment the organisation deems fit.“
