Former President Zuma Admitted to outside hospital for medical observation

Former president Jacob Zuma turned himself into prison early Thursday to begin serving a 15-month sentence for contempt of the country's highest court, officials said.

Former President Jacob Zuma, has been admitted to an outside hospital for medical observation. The department of correctional services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo says the healthcare needs of Zuma require the involvement of the South African Military Health Services as former Head of State.  “This been the case since his admission at Estcourt Correctional Centre,” Nxumalo said.

“A routine observation prompted that Mr Zuma be taken for in-hospitalisation,” Nxumalo added

The Former President is currently serving a 15 Months Jail Sentence at Estcourt Prison for failing to appear at state capture inquiry.
