Former Dihlabeng Worker Granted Bail in R190 000 Fraud Case

A Former Dihlabeng Municipality worker who is accused of fraud to the tune of more than R190 000.00 has been granted bail

The hawks says the accused, Heleen Cornelia Kapp (49) appeared before the Fouriesburg Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 26 April 2022 where she faced charges of fraud, theft and money laundering.

“It is alleged that Kapp who was working as an admin clerk at the Dihlabeng Local Municipality was involved in fraudulent activities where she stole an amount of more than R190 000 from the Fouriesburg Unit for her own benefit. The incident took place from 2014 and 2017.” said Hawks Captain Christopher Singo

“The matter was reported to the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team based in Bloemfontein which culminated to the arrest of Kapp on Tuesday.”

“The case against Kapp was postponed to Friday, 29 April 2022 for Regional Court appearance in Bethlehem. She was released on a R500 bail.”
