A foreign national, Chibuike Johnbosco Ezike has appeared in court on 01 December 2023, after he was arrested and charged for dealing in drugs.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested on the spot after the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team based in Bloemfontein found four transparent bank plastic bags containing suspected CAT drug.
According to the Hawks spokesperson W/O Fikiswa Matoti, the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team based in Bloemfontein conducted a disruptive operation on 29 November 2023 aimed at executing a search warrant.
“They searched the small business premises, Ugoo Best Trading on Douglas Street in Bloemfontein, reacting to information received about a person selling drugs, fronting with the shop to conceal his criminal activities,” said Matoti.
The suspect is expected to reappear in court on 11 December 2023 for a formal bail application.
