Five suspects to appear in Warden court for house robbery and thefts

Warden – South African Police Service (SAPS) provincial spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele confirmed five suspects have been arrested on alleged spate of house robberies and farm attacks in Warden area on Tuesday.

According to Brigadier Makhele, the suspects are linked to Warden case of April 2021 where property and cash amounting to R600 000, 00 was stolen.

“On the 3 August 2021 the Phuthaditjhaba Tactical Response Team (TRT) conducted a self initiative operation in Warden following an outcry on spate of house breakings and pre planned house robberies in that area.”

Police officials received information about a syndicate believed to be operating around Warden and nearby farms, and commits house robberies and house breakings and theft.

After receiving the information, police officials made a follow up and managed to arrest the five suspects.

Meanwhile, three suspects who were arrested in Sasolburg Boulevard Mall are expected to appear at the Sasolburg Magistrate Court on Thursday, 05 August 2021 with charges of business robbery and illegal possession of firearms.

“Three suspects between the ages of 29 to 34, with one being a foreign national were apprehended and two firearms recovered. Two suspects are still at large.”
