Dr. Kenny Makweng’s Memorial and Funeral Service Details Released

Dr. Kenny Makweng, a South African gospel artist affiliated with the ZCC, tragically passed away following a hospitalization for a stroke. The shocking news was confirmed via a statement released by his record label, KennyMak Productions, on Wednesday following his demise on Monday, 15 January.

The renowned artist left a marked impact on the gospel industry in a successful career spanning over two decades, partnering with other prominent gospel figures such as Mojeremane, Nkosana Kodi, Oleseng Shuping, and Winnie Mashaba.

In order to memorialize his unforgettable contributions to music and honour his memory, a service will take place on Friday at the Akasia Community Hall, Akasia, in Tshwane, commencing at noon. Further, a funeral service will be held at his home in Digwale, Mpumalanga, on Sunday, 21 January.

Memorial Service
Date: Friday, 19 January 2024
Venue: Akasia Community Hall, Akasia
Time: 12:00 P.M.

Funeral Service
Date: Sunday, 21 January 2024
Venue: Digwale, Mpumalanga (Home of the Late Dr. Kenny Makweng)
Time: 06:30 A.M.

It should be noted that following the service in Digwale, the funeral procession will proceed to Keerom, approximately 40 kilometers away, where Dr. Makweng will be laid to rest.

KennyMak Productions thanked fans for their unwavering support during this devastating time, saying, “The family continues to appeal for prayers as we all grieve the sad departure of Dr. Kenny. The outpouring support thus far has been incredible and deeply appreciated.”
