#FeesMustFall activist Bonginkosi Khanyile in court for inciting public violence

#FeesMustFall activist and EFF Member Bonginkosi Khanyile appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court on Monday , 23 August 2021, to face charges of incitement to commit public violence and contravention of the disaster management act regulations.

The National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that the 31-year-old had been charged for incitement to commit public violence and Contravention of the Disaster Management Act regulations. 

“These relate to incidents of looting and public violence that occurred in Kwazulu-Natal in mid-July,” said NPA Spokesperson Natasha Kara 

The matter was postponed to Thursday, 26 August 2021, for a formal bail application.
