Eskom, the power utility in South Africa, has announced on Sunday, 17 December 2023, that loadshedding will be suspended until 4pm on Friday due to consistent improvement in available generating capacity.

 

In a statement, Eskom mentioned that they will closely monitor the power system and communicate any significant changes to the public.

The evening peak demand forecast is 23 471MW, with unplanned outages currently at 12 158MW and planned maintenance at 8 728MW of generation capacity.
