Dr Mgcini Tshwaku Speaks Out on Criminal Activities in Matholeville
The EFF City of Johannesburg MMC of Public Safety, Dr. Mgcini Tshwaku, has recently announced plans to enhance the city’s crime-fighting efforts by hiring approximately 700 community patrollers for each ward.

This move comes as part of Tshwaku’s strategy to tackle crime head-on and increase public safety in Johannesburg.

Tshwaku emphasized that these new patrollers would serve as the eyes and ears for the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD). By implementing what he refers to as community-based policing, Tshwaku believes that this approach will effectively strengthen the connection between law enforcement and local communities.

During an interview on @MorningLiveSABC, Tshwaku shed light on the ongoing operation against illegal miners, known as Zama-Zamas, in Johannesburg. This operation further underlines Tshwaku’s commitment to addressing various crime-related concerns within the city.
