EFF Leader Julius Malema
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), its leader Julius Malema will cast his vote in the 2024 general elections on Wednesday at Ponegele Lower Primary School in Zone 1 Masakaneng, Seshego at 12:00 PM.
Malema’s vote underscores the importance of Seshego, his hometown, in the broader political landscape. The area has held symbolic value for the EFF, and Malema’s presence is expected to draw considerable attention from both the media and local supporters.
Special Voting Period for EFF Officials
Whilst Malema will vote on Wednesday, other key officials of the EFF have already cast their votes during the special voting period, which commenced on Monday and concludes today.

IEC Commends Smooth Voting Processes
Masego Sheburi, the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), has lauded the smooth execution of the first day of special votes in the National and Provincial Elections. Speaking at the National Results Operation Centre (ROC) in Midrand, Sheburi expressed satisfaction with the process, highlighting the high efficiency and strong turnout witnessed.
Special votes, which started on Monday, will continue through Tuesday for eligible voters. Voting stations are operational from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. By 2:00 PM on Monday, an estimated 201,794 special votes had been processed across 22,626 service points.
Anticipated Numbers and Logistics
Sheburi confidently conveyed that over the two days allotted for special votes, 624,593 voters are expected to be assisted by 62,000 commission officials. To ensure a fair and transparent process, these officials are accompanied by political party agents and observers wherever available.
