EFF Leader Julius Malema
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) President Julius Malema is set to attend the 27th Annual Conference of the New Generation Church in Limpopo this weekend. The event, hosted under the leadership of Bishop Dr. M.B. Mphahlele, will take place on Saturday, 18 October 2025, at the New Generation Church Auditorium in Lenting Village next to Lebowakgomo.
The EFF announced Malema’s participation on Friday, highlighting the party’s ongoing support for the church’s community initiatives.
The church expressed gratitude for the EFF’s contributions, which include two big-screen televisions for the Old Age Home and five air conditioners for the Church Hall.
These donations have improved the lives of the elderly and congregants, demonstrating the party’s commitment to genuine service delivery and upliftment. “The Church has extended its gratitude to the EFF for its continued commitment to genuine service delivery and community upliftment,” the EFF statement read.
This marks a continued partnership between the EFF and the New Generation Church, a Healing and Deliverance Ministry known for its community outreach in Limpopo. Bishop Mphahlele, celebrated for her dedication to spiritual guidance and social development, has led the church in various programmes aimed at supporting vulnerable groups.
The conference, starting at 10:00, is expected to draw attendees from across the province, focusing on themes of faith, community building, and social justice. Malema’s presence underscores the EFF’s engagement with religious and community organisations, aligning with the party’s values of economic freedom and social equity.
Background on the New Generation Church and Bishop Mphahlele
The New Generation Church, based in Lenting, Limpopo, is a vibrant ministry led by Bishop Dr. M.B. Mphahlele. Known for her work in healing and deliverance, Bishop Mphahlele has built a congregation focused on spiritual growth and community service. The church runs initiatives like support for old age homes and halls equipped for gatherings, reflecting a commitment to the elderly and broader congregation.
Bishop Mphahlele has been recognised for her leadership, including in the Legends Awards for her contributions to community development. The annual conference is a key event, celebrating 27 years of service and bringing together members for inspiration and fellowship.
The church’s location in rural Limpopo makes it a vital hub for local residents, providing not just spiritual support but also practical aid. Events like this conference strengthen community ties and address social issues in the area.
EFF’s Role in Community Upliftment
The EFF has positioned itself as a champion for the poor and marginalised, with initiatives like donating essential items to community organisations. In this case, the televisions and air conditioners enhance the quality of life for the elderly at the Old Age Home and improve facilities at the Church Hall.
Malema, known for his outspoken advocacy on economic issues, often engages with faith-based groups to promote unity and development. His attendance at the conference aligns with the EFF’s broader agenda of supporting institutions that uplift communities, particularly in rural areas like Limpopo.
The party has a history of similar engagements, using such platforms to connect with grassroots supporters and address local challenges. This event provides an opportunity for Malema to discuss issues like poverty, inequality, and access to services, resonating with the church’s mission.
