By Thys Khiba  – Free State Chief of Staff of treasury Murendeni “Musanda” Ndanduleni has attained his masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Free State.

Ndanduleni is a dedicated education activist with a profound commitment to the advancement of quality education for black children.

His academic journey started with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Honours in Business Administration, SAIFM Rpe Exams, Financial Markets and Instruments certification from the Academy of Financial Markets, and an International Computer Driver’s License, among other marked achievements.

In a form social responsibility, Ndanduleni plans to give back to the community by visiting 50 schools across Free State and other provinces through his foundation. The aim is to inspire and instill hope in the youth, emphasizing the importance of education and civic engagement for a brighter future.

“As a black child from a poverty stricken Village, I’m very excited about my Academic achievements. I’m looking forward to visiting Schools Nationwide motivating young people and showing them the importance of Education. My main role now is to give hope to the younger generation,” said Ndanduleni.

He is currently serving as the Chief of Staff at the Free State Treasury under the esteemed leadership of the MEC Gadija Brown.

His professional trajectory encompasses roles at the following institutions and various government departments, showcasing his diverse expertise in education, media, finance, and public service:

• Cida City Campus – Manager of School of Investments
• Alex FM – Breakfast Show Host and Head of Marketing
• Nedbank as the Callcentre Agent
• Department of Agriculture and Rural Development – Executive PA to the Hon. MEC and DD Parliamentary and Liaison Officer
• DESTEA – Director HOD’s Office
• Department of Social Development – Director HOD’s Office
• Department of Public Works and Infratructure – Director HOD’s office.

His recently completed Master’s research titled “An Analysis of South Africa’s Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations in Combating Pandemics” delves into the intricacies of fiscal relations, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic within the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality. The study recommends strategies for improving the management of such crises through effective intergovernmental fiscal relations, emphasizing the critical role of local government in providing essential services to communities.

*ACCEPTED by Wits School of Governance to pursue a Doctorate of Philosophy*:

Undeterred by his accomplishments, Ndanduleni is poised to embark on a new academic venture, having been accepted to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy at Wits School of Governance.

His doctoral research is expected to focus on Government Spending, Good Governance, and Service Delivery, with a vision to contribute to the professionalisation of government and elevate service delivery standards.

As Ndanduleni prepares to join Wits University in January 2024, his unwavering dedication to education, public service, and transformative research positions him as a commendable advocate for positive change in South Africa.
