The Edgar Legoale foundation hosted the prestigious Edgar Legoale Easter soccer Tournament from 15th April to 18 April 2022 in Tumahole, Parys, Mandela Sports Ground.
16 teams that included teams from Fochville, Soweto, Lenasia, Kzn and the Vaal triangle took part in the competition to earn themselves 1 of 3 major prices that were up for grabs.
Speaking to the founder and organiser of the tournament Edgar Legoale “This was our most difficult but yet most successful event we have ever organised, the weather proved to be our biggest threat for the weekend however, people from Parys and surrounding areas braved the weather and came in numbers and we are truly greatful for the support they have given us. Most importantly, seeing teams as far as Kwazulu Natal become a part of this event can only tell you how big our reach has become, and to all the teams we want to thank you and encourage you to continue to affiliate to our tournaments so we can foster development of young players”
One of the significant part of the tournament was seeing the developmental aspect of young footballers, the tournament included the under 13 and under 15 players.
Speaking to the project manager Israel Fantisi “One of my biggest dream is to see more of these young players become part of the teams that are competing in the tournament, but most importantly seeing them follow their dreams and becoming professional footballers across the country and abroad”

3rd Position – Manco Fc (Koppies)
2nd Position – Majestic Fc (Soweto)
1st Position – The Ultimate Fc (Parys)
The theme for this year’s tournament was “No to drugs and yes to Sports”
