|Edgar Legoale Foundation Gives All Learners at Ntshwephepa Primary School New Shoes|
The Edgar Legoale Foundation launched its School Shoes Initiative at Ntshwephepa Primary School in Tumahole, Parys, within the Free State Province this Friday. Spearheaded by Edgar Legoale himself, the initiative was dedicated to distributing school shoes to every learner identified as in need, effectively bridging a significant gap in their educational journey.
The event, marking the commencement of this noble endeavour, attracted the attendance of over 40 parents, eager to witness the foundation’s direct impact on the community. It was a moment of collective gratitude as the school principal, alongside the school governing body (SGB), openly expressed their appreciation to the foundation for its critical contribution.
Recognising the persistent challenge of inadequate footwear faced by many learners, the Edgar Legoale Foundation highlighted the initiative as a strategic move to alleviate this basic yet crucial need. According to Sello Fantisi, the Foundation Manager, “Under the theme: ‘Stepping Towards a Brighter Future – One Pair at a Time!’, the foundation aims to provide every learner in need at Ntshwephepa Primary School with a new pair of school shoes.” This gesture is not merely about footwear; it’s a step towards removing barriers that distract from academic focus and performance.
“Our endeavours are driven by the vision of laying the groundwork for a hopeful and inspired generation, advancing one step at a time,” Fantisi added, underscoring the foundation’s broader mission of fostering development and wellbeing among underprivileged youth through targeted initiatives such as this one.
The School Shoes Initiative, as purported by the foundation, stands as a testament to its commitment to supporting educational advancement and the overall wellbeing of children hailing from disadvantaged backgrounds.
