Edgar Legoale at Yakhisizwe High School in Parys
By Thys Khiba – The Edgar Legoale Foundation continues to do play its role of social responsibility by to ploughing back into the lives of some of the top-performing learners of the previous year in the Free State province.
On Wednesday, 31 January 2024, the foundation has donated a laptop to Yakhisizwe High School top-performing pupil Andile Ntamo who has received distinctions in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Geography.
The Free State Yakhisizwe High School which has recorded an impressive pass rate of 95.8% is highest-performing school in the area of Parys in the Ngwathe Local Municipality. Yakhisizwe’s exponential progress, the pass rate escalated from 94.2% in 2021 to 99% in 2022.
Foundation chairman Edgar Legoale and manager Israel Sello Fantisi had a meeting with the school’s principal, Fongoqa to discuss the pass rate of the school and other related matters.
Foundation chairman Legoale indicated indicated that the donation will assist in making education less challenging for Ntamo who needs it as the first-year student of the University of Free State.
“Congratulations on your remarkable achievements at Yakhisizwe High School and your subsequent admission to university.
“Your perseverance and diligence have definitely shone through. As you embark on your university journey, remember to remain focused, continually challenge yourself, and relentlessly pursue your dreams. You have already proven your capabilities and I firmly believe in your future successes. Continue to strive for excellence. Your future promises greatness and I eagerly look forward to witnessing all your forthcoming accomplishments,” said Legoale.
The foundation has pledged to host a celebratory event in the next month to honour the exceptional teachers and the high-performing pupils of the Yakhisizwe.
The foundation has also expressed its gratitude to the school educators, support staff, the SGB and all pupils for their efforts, hard work in putting Yakhisizwe on the historical books of Parys.
“Your unwavering dedication and efforts have indeed borne fruit, and the entire school community should be immensely proud of this outstanding achievement.
“Your commitment to molding young minds has been commendable and we believe your inspiring efforts will pave the way for the future success and positively transform students’live. Continue with your excellent work and know that you are making a significant contribution to your students and the larger community,” said Fantisi.
