Dr. Ramokgopa and Infrastructure South Africa to visit infrastructure projects in Free State

The Head of the Infrastructure and Investment Office in the Presidency, Dr. Kgosientso Ramokgopa will lead a delegation from Infrastructure South Africa on a three-day visit to the Free State Province from Monday, 12 April to Wednesday, 14 April 2021.

The visit is part of a broader initiative to engage more intimately with Provinces on their infrastructure build programmes with the aim of finding clear areas of collaboration and synergies. Part of the three-day visit will entail site visits to catalytic infrastructure projects.

Investment in Infrastructure is part of the overall Economic Recovery Plan of Government to create employment opportunities across various sector and surrounding communities.

In her state of the Province address, The Free State Premier Sefora Ntombela said she has created a Task Team to drive strategic infrastructure projects. The Task Team will play a central coordinating function in the identification, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategic infrastructure projects.

“The Task Team is led by the Director-General and will work closely with Infrastructure South Africa led by Dr. Kgosientso Ramokgopa, said the Premier”. As part of the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan unveiled by President Ramaphosa, Free State Government will work together with Infrastructure South Africa to implement various infrastructure projects in the province.

Part Two: Virginia Gas Project
