Dr. Nandipha Magudumana’s urgent application to the Free State High Court was denied, along with costs. Magudumana requested that the court declare her arrest in Tanzania illegal.
Magudumana is one of seven people arrested for helping Thabo Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer, escape from prison.
Judge Phillip Loubser states that Magudumana was obviously mindful of the charges she would confront, during the handover cycle between the Tanzania government and South Africa, upon her appearance in the country.
Magudumana was returned in accordance with international law, according to the court.
