D’General FC
D’General FC clinched the top spot in Stream A of the ABC Motsepe League, following a successful arbitration against Dikgosi for fielding an ineligible player. This verdict has allowed D’General to leapfrog Bloemfontein Celtic, securing the lead with 39 points, a narrow one-point advantage, in the hotly contested league.
Founded by the acclaimed radio broadcaster, Mr. Nyakallo Leine, known to many as B2Cada from Lesedi FM, and the talented South African elite league player, Kamohelo Mokotjo, D’General FC is now setting its sights on the upcoming Free State Provincial play-offs against Mangaung Unite.
Key Victory Post Arbitration
Monday’s arbitration outcome was a significant win for D’General FC, rewarding them with three essential points which catapulted them to the pinnacle of the Stream A standings. Zee Leine, the club’s Managing Director, shared his elation over this achievement, emphasizing the diligence and anticipation that culminated in their lead, albeit by a slight margin over Bloemfontein Celtic.
The Botshabelo-based squad had lodged a complaint against Dikgosi FC for their failure to present proper identification ahead of their league match, which concluded in a stalemate. However, the resolution of this protest in D’General’s favour has not only vindicated their position but also emphasized the significance of rule adherence within the league’s framework.
The Path Ahead
As D’General FC prepares for its crucial engagement against Mangaung Unite in the provincial playoffs, the spotlight is on the venue’s imminent announcement. Reflecting on their journey thus far, Leine validated the hard-fought process to secure their current standing.
Celebrating their procedural victory, Leine pointed out their reliance on Safa Rule 11.2, a regulation which played a pivotal role in their argument and subsequent win. This rule explicitly states the forfeiture of points by any team unable to present players’ IDs, a guideline that has recently been the basis of similar judgements in the league.
In related developments, Bloemfontein Celtic and Bloem Eagles have also been beneficiaries of parallel arbitration rulings, granting them points for their competitors’ failure to comply with identification verification requirements.
