Deputy President Mabuza takes leave to Russia for medical consultation

Deputy President David Mabuza says processes are underway to finalise a service level agreement between Eskom and the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality in the Free State, on the collection of debt owed to the power utility.

The Presidency of the Republic of South Africa has announced that Deputy President David Mabuza has requested from President Cyril Ramaphosa , to take a few days of leave. The Presidency announced on Saturday 26 June 2021.

The Presidency said in a statement “ During this time, the Deputy President will undertake a visit to the Russian Federation for a scheduled medical consultation. This consultation is a follow-up to previous medical consultations that the Deputy President received from the Russian Federation.”

Deputy President David Mabuza will on Friday visit Nkomazi Local Municipality in the Ehlanzeni District of Mpumalanga province.

The presidency further said the Deputy President will continue with the responsibilities that have been entrusted to him upon the end of the leave period.
