Department of Home Affairs

The Department of Home Affairs announced on Thursday afternoon that their system is back online after experiencing a technical issue that affected access to the National Population Register (NPR).

The glitch, which occurred on the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) mainframe, caused disruptions to services for citizens and other clients. However, the department confirmed that as of midday, the system was back online and services are once again available.

In a statement, the department assured the public that technicians from SITA are monitoring the system to ensure a sustainable solution. They also promised to provide further updates as necessary.
