Court Crime Arrest convicted bail

In a recent ruling, the Mokopane Magistrate Court has found Vincent Madiga, a traffic officer, guilty of soliciting a R200 bribe from an under-cover agent.

The court case, which began in May 2019, concluded with Madiga being convicted on all charges.

The court proceedings included both audio and video evidence, which played a crucial role in establishing Madiga’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt. Despite the defense challenging the constitutionality of the video evidence, the court upheld its admissibility and deemed it sufficient to prove the state’s case.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the trial, emphasizing the importance of holding corrupt individuals accountable.

The RTMC has encouraged citizens to report any suspicions of fraud, corruption, or malfeasance to their dedicated email address ntacu@rtmc.co.za or via WhatsApp to 083 293 7989.
