Sihlahla described the passing of Silo as a pain that will take him years to wipe it off.
Speaking to Free State Central News, Sihlahla sent a message of condolences to the and encouraged the family, wife, and children of Silo to stay strong.
He was an ANC councillor for Ward 5, who joined the municipality in November 2021.
Silo died on Monday morning outside his home after collapsing by the gate.
This comes after he was stabbed in the chest and killed after an alleged argument with a suspect who is yet to be arrested.
The Land Party condemned the killing of the ANC councillor in Hermanus.
The party called on SAPS to deepen their investigations in dealing with this matter.
“The Land Party understands that councillor Silo was receiving pressure from some of his party members to resign, he survived poison last year and he was still recovering,” said Land Party Chief Leader, Gcobani Ndzongana.
Ndzongana indicated that they will give a reward to anyone who can come forward with the location of the murderer.
Meanwhile, police in the Western Cape reports said the motive for the attack was a possible argument.
“The Western Cape provincial detectives are probing the circumstances leading to the incident and are investigating a murder,” said Police Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi.
The ANC is now left with councillor Sihlahla for Ward 12, councillor Theodorah Nqinata for Ward 2 and PR councillor and chief whip Constancy Connie Tafu-Nwonkwo in the municipality.
