Sizwe Dhlomo and Cyril Ramaphosa
South African radio personality Sizwe Dhlomo expressed his disappointment with the Presidency’s decision to broadcast President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address on private broadcaster eNCA instead of the public broadcaster SABC.
Dhlomo took to social media to voice his concerns, questioning why the government did not choose to use SABC to distribute the broadcast.
“But ke ngempela gents, why aren’t you using SABC to distribute the broadcast? Do you not see the message this sends?” said Sizwe
This decision has sparked a debate among the public, as many have interpreted it as a message of disregard for the importance and influence of the public broadcaster.
SABC is a state-owned entity and is funded by taxpayers’ money, making it the natural choice for such a significant national address.
The purpose of Ramaphosa’s address has not been disclosed, leaving the public speculating about what announcements may be made.
Rumors have been circulating that a public holiday may be declared, leading to excitement and anticipation among many.
However, the Presidential Spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, quickly dispelled these rumors, stating that tomorrow is day one of Matric exams and that a public holiday would disrupt the exam schedule.
Vincent scored an own goal now people want answers why SABC isn't the one that is sharing the feed when it has always been the case.
