Originally from Mqanduli in the Eastern Cape, he has also authored two books: “Raising the Bar: Hope and Renewal in South Africa” (2015) and “Manifesto – A New Vision for South Africa” (2022).

During his illustrious career, Songezo has held positions such as the former Associate Editor of the Financial Mail and the former Editor of Business Day, South Africa’s premier business and economy daily. He has also worked at reputable companies like Volkswagen South Africa (1998 – 2006), Xstrata (2006 – 2013), and Absa (2016 – 2021). In addition to his professional accomplishments, Songezo has served on the boards of multiple non-profit organizations.
