Deputy President Paul Mashatile is set to deliver a public lecture on Tuesday, 9 April 2024. The lecture will commemorate the 30th anniversary of democracy in South Africa, a pivotal moment in the nation’s rich history.
Organised by the University of Johannesburg’s School of Public Management, Governance and Public Policy, in collaboration with the College of Business and Economics, this event promises to be both enlightening and inspiring. The University of Johannesburg, known for its commitment to excellence and its position as an international university of choice, will welcome the Deputy President at its Auckland Park campus for this momentous occasion.
According to a press release from the Presidency, “Priding itself as an international university of choice, anchored in Africa and dynamically shaping the future, the University of Johannesburg will host the Deputy President at its Auckland Park campus.”
The lecture aims to engage South Africa’s youth by envisioning a future filled with prosperity and opportunities. As the nation celebrates the strides it has made since embracing democracy in 1994, Deputy President Mashatile’s speech is anticipated to focus on the considerable progress achieved in creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
