Cape Town- Cape Town based football club, Cape Town City FC has announced the reappointment of Eric Tinkler as their new head coach on a four year contract, on Monday.

Cape Town- Cape Town based football club, Cape Town City FC has announced the reappointment of Eric Tinkler as their new head coach on a four year contract, on Monday.

Tinkler will be returning to Cape Town City FC as he coached City during the 2016-2017 season.

“The history maker, returns to the Mother City. Eric Tinkler returns to the iconic Cape Town Stadium.”

Tinkler is expected to replace the outgoing Jan Olde Riekerink as the head coach. Cape Town City FC will continue with their two games remaining for the 2020/2021 DStv Premiership league.

“Cape Town City is delighted to confirm the appointment of Eric Tinkler as new first team head coach on a four year contract.”

The club has managed to win 21 matches in 38 games with 8 draws and 9 losses under the leadership of Eric Tinkler. He remains the club’s most successful coach who has lifted the Telkom knockout trophy in 2016 as the head coach of Cape Town City FC.

Tinkler has also coached Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, Chippa United and Maritzburg United.

“This has always been one of my favourite stadiums,” said Tinkler.
