Buthelezi Discharged from Hospital Following Long and Arduous Recovery

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi

Amazulu Traditional Prime Minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, has been discharged from the hospital after a prolonged and challenging recovery.

Buthelezi, who was admitted to the hospital in July due to severe back pain, faced additional health complications during his stay, including a stint in the Intensive Care Unit.

According to Dr Bhekuyise Ngqengelele Buthelezi, spokesperson for the family, the support and love shown by the people of South Africa have been instrumental in Buthelezi’s recovery.

The family expressed their gratitude to key figures such as His Majesty King MisuZulu kaZwelithini, President Cyril Ramaphosa, former Presidents Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy President Paul Mashatile, Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, Mr. Velenkosini Hlabisa (President of the IFP), AmaKhosi (traditional leaders), and the Buthelezi Clan, whose unwavering support helped carry them through this challenging time.

In a statement, Dr. Bhekuyise Ngqengelele Buthelezi said, “We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to every South African who kept us in their thoughts and prayers. The outpouring of love we received has undoubtedly played a crucial role in uMntwana’s (Buthelezi’s) recovery and his subsequent discharge from the hospital.”

As Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi continues his recovery and recuperation outside of the hospital, his family remains optimistic about his progress.

The Buthelezi Clan is grateful for the continued support, prayers, and well-wishes from the South African community.
