The Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and People with Disabilities, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize has passed away at the age of 69. The cause of her death is still yet to be confirmed.
Mkhize previously served in various cabinet portfolios, including Home Affairs and Higher Education as Minister . She also served as South Africa’s ambassador to the Netherlands and was also the Deputy Minister for Correctional Services and Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services. She was a lecturer and researcher at Wits University from 1990 until 1995.
