A 15 year-old boy was fatally stabbed to death in Odendaalsrus following an argument over a boy’s game

Odendaalsrus – A 12-year old boy is expected to appear in the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court, on Monday 28 June 2021, after allegedly stabbed Lebohang Malgas (15) following an argument over a boy’s game.
“It is alleged that Lebohang Malgas (15) and another 12 year old were playing a gambling game on the street at Blok 7 Kutlwanong, Odendaalsrus on Friday 25 June 2021 at about 19:30. The two later engaged in a heated argument and the 12 year old went home,” said Police Spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele.
According to Brigadier Makhele, on his (12 year old) return he allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Lebohang in the chest.
The victim fell and was declared dead at the scene.
The deceased is a Grade 9 learner whilst the 12 year-old suspect is in Grade 6 at separate schools in Kutlwanong.
“The minor suspect was arrested and charged with murder, but was released under the custody of his guardian pending his court appearance,” said Brigadier Makhele.
At the time of publishing this article, Free State Central News couldn’t get a comment from the relevant family spokespersons.
