A 49-year-old woman, Mamokete Jeminah Koloti, is set to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Tuesday in connection with a serious case of robbery and kidnapping. Koloti was apprehended by a special task team led by Captain David Ramasoala and Captain Kelaotswe Lebodi during a raid in Lourierpark, near Bloemfontein, in the early hours of Sunday. She had been evading law enforcement since a warrant was issued for her arrest following an incident in June 2024.

The case dates back to 20 June 2024, when Koloti and several male accomplices allegedly abducted a 50-year-old man from his home on Chief Moroka Crescent. The victim was reportedly taken to a location in Bloemspruit Phase 6, where the assailants forced him to transfer money from his accounts. The incident was reported to the Kagisanong police station, prompting a full-scale investigation that eventually led to Koloti’s capture.

Major-General Arthur Peter Adams, the District Commissioner of Mangaung Metro, has advised the public to exercise caution and refrain from publicly announcing financial gains such as pension payouts, Road Accident Fund claims, or lottery winnings. Such announcements can make individuals easy targets for criminals.
