Johannesburg – A South African digital satellite television channel, Moja Love has announced the decision by one of their hosts, Bishop Israel Makamu to voluntarily step down from the channel amid an internal investigation of a recording linked to him.

“As a channel, we take this recording very seriously. We have started with an internal investigation and are reaching out to the lady in the recording to find out the events around the recording. One of our properties, AmaBishop, reveals behind the scenes shenanigans that pastors and bishops engage in and impose on the public. We cannot ignore a recording of this nature where one of our hosts is implicated,” said Head of Channel BokaniMoyo.

This is after a recording linked to Makamu, with sexual connotations has been circulating on social media.

Moyo has indicated that the channel will establish facts and truth before they allow Makamu to come back as part of their team.

Makamu has maintained that he is innocent and claims that the recording dates back to 2017. In addition, Makamusays that the lady in the recording was his employeeand their conversation was not sexual in any manner.

“Bishop Makamu suspects his character is being assassinated.”
