Witsieshoek – The African National Congress (ANC) in Thabo Mofutsanyana Region is distancing itself from the voice clips that have been circulating on the social media by alleged Maluti A Phofung councillor ‘insulting’ the ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“These voice clips are derogatory in nature and insulting to the person of the President of the ANC. The ANC in the region disassociates itself with this behaviour and strongly condemn it in the strongest possible terms,” said Regional Spokesperson Thabo Mokoena.
According to the region, such behaviour has no place in the renewal of their organisation. Mokoena says that part of renewing their organisation is to deal with tendencies that he says are both a hindrance and an impediment to the ANC.
“This behaviour is going to be investigated, the organisation cannot be reduced to a playground for anarchic and I’ll discipline behaviour.”
The region has promised to investigate the matter and reprimand such tendency. Mokoena says that any behaviour that seems to be threatening their harmony shouldn’t be hidden underground because it bothers on their founding principles.
The region has advised its members to disassociate themselves from such ‘divisive tendencies.’
“We are therefore further appealing to members of the ANC in region to exercise caution and disassociate with divisive tendencies and behaviour that threatens the unity of our movement.”
This is a developing story.
