ANC MP Mervyn Dirks Goes to Court to challenge his Suspension

The ANC Member of Parliament, Mervyn Dirks Goes to Court to challenge his suspension as the whip of the party’s Parliamentary Caucus.

Dirks was placed on suspension by the ANC chief whip Pemmy Majodina last week.

The ANC suspended Dirks after he wrote a letter for President Cyril Ramaphosa to appear before SCOPA, for utterances he allegedly made in a leaked audio clip about the misuse of public funds for internal party leadership campaigns in 2017.

Godrich Gardee Attorneys will represent Dirks at Capetown High Court , 10am tomorrow.

Dirks is also still expected to appear before Scopa on Tuesday afternoon to disclose what he knows about the misuse of public funds for party political activities
