ANC Free State Provincial Leadership
The African National Congress (ANC) in Free State is currently embroiled in internal disputes, not about policies or campaign strategies, but over photographs. As they prepare for the upcoming elections, intending to promote their ANC Free State Chairman and Premier candidate, Mxolisi Dukwana, internal communications have revealed that some leaders within the province are displeased with the fact that images posted on the organisation’s social media pages exclusively feature the Free State Chairman and Premier candidate, Mxolisi Dukwana, rather than themselves.
This matter was brought to light when Saki Mokoena, head of elections in the Free State, voiced his frustrations in the party’s WhatsApp communication group. “As usual some of us will never feature in your cameras. Hope I achieve what u hope for. Doing a fantastic job”.
Echoing Mokoena’s sentiments, ANC PEC Member Oupa Kgoabane pointed out, “Mokoai, the photos only focused on two Provincial leaders,”
Adding to the chorus of grievances, Polediso Motsoeneng, ANC Free State Provincial Secretary, openly criticised the party’s Facebook page for its exclusivity. “In fact, on our Facebook page, comrades, I don’t see any of the provincial leaders except the provincial chair, and I wanted to comment but retreated for fear of being perceived to be self-centred,” Motsoeneng said.
The spat over photo features has brought to the forefront underlying tensions within the ANC Free State, with reports swirling about rifts and power struggles.
