By Thys Khiba – KwaZulu Natal based football club AmaZulu has officially announced it has parted ways with their 52-year-old head coach Brandon Truter on Thursday afternoon.
“We thank him for his cooperation and hard work for the club and wish him luck in his future career,” said the club in a statement.
In the current season of the DStv Premiership League, Truter has faced difficulties and managed to win only three matches with the club.
“He has impressed since taking over the reins following the departure of Benni McCarthy in March.”
Truter has been in charge of Usuthu for just over five months, with 19 games, seven wins, seven draws, and lost five games.
The club is currently on position number nine of the DStvPremiership with 11 points.
On Wednesday, Usuthu failed to secure three points against Richards Bay FC in Moses Mabhida Stadium. They will be looking forward to getting more points when they face MarumoGallants on Saturday in Peter Mokoba Stadium in a DStvPremiership clash.
At the moment it is unclear whether Assistant Coaches Siyabonga Nomvethe and Kamaal Saait will take over as interim coaches and managers.
The club is expected to face Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 semi-final 2nd leg fixture on the 23 October. The two teams will face each at 15:30 in Moses Mabhida Stadium after playing a draw in the 1st leg.
