Chelsea are in for a difficult game if they play Al Ahly in the Club World Cup final on Sunday afternoon. At least, that’s according to Pitso Mosimane, who spoke in fiery terms ahead of the match between his side and Palmeiras in the other semi final.
The Egyptian side won their quarter final 6-1 to get nicely warmed up for their semi, while the Blues looked a little quiet and dispirited in a difficult game against Plymouth in the FA Cup.
Mosimane is a well regarded coach with a rising profile, and he and his players will be desperate to show their quality and get a chance to face the Chelsea in the final by getting a result against the South American champions.
Chelsea know all too well from 2012 that they can’t underestimate other teams in this tournament.
“I think it will be a tactical match and they will not say that we will win, everything is possible, and they will try to beat us, but we will prepare seriously.
“[Palmeiras] have won the Libertadores twice in a row and they are a big team, but we are not afraid of anyone,” the Al Ahly coach said in quotes picked up by SoccerLaduma.
Chelsea take on Al Hilal on Wednesday, and if they win that game, they will face the winner of the Palmeiras – Al Ahly game in the final. @ SuperFrank
