Six Suspects Arrested in Connection with New Year’s Day Killing in Soshanguve
Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the tragic killing in Soshanguve on New Year’s Day, which resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including a teenager. The arrests were made through a collaborative effort between the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team and the Hawks’ Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS).
During an intelligence-driven operation in various areas around Pretoria, three males and one female were taken into custody on the night of January 6, 2024. The arrest brings the total number of apprehended suspects to six, and authorities have seized three firearms, including an AK 47 and two pistols.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the suspects are set to appear in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s court on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, to face charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Additionally, two individuals previously arrested in connection with the case, Sipho Kgomo and Tshepo Mosemeni, are scheduled to appear in court again on January 12, 2024.
