By Thys Khiba – The Klerksdorp – based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit in collaboration with the Provincial Drugs Task Team have arrested Adelaide Nkarabelang Madibo after she was found to be in possession of drugs at Dassierand on Tuesday, 19 December 2023.
This comes after the Hawks found rocks of cocaine estimated to the street value of R17 752 – 00 were found hidden inside a tupperware container.
The Hawks spokesperson, W/O Amogelang Malwetse indicated that, “this happened during the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residential place where during the search, rocks of cocaine estimated to the street value of R17 752 – 00 were found hidden inside a tupperware container.”
On Wednesday, 20 December 2023, Madibo appeared before the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court, on a charge of possession of drugs, following her arrest.
She has been remanded in custody.
Madibo is expected to reappear before the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court on 27 December 2023 for formal bail application.
