“According to information received, the couple that stayed together at their RDP house at Bakola Section in Ganyesa, had an argument on Wednesday, evening, 4 August 2021. Funani said subsequent to the quarrel, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with a spade leading to her sustaining multiple and grievous bodily injuries.

Police officials were informed that the former’s body was covered with a blanket and pushed beneath the bed by the suspect after he realized that the girlfriend was dead. The suspect then fled to his brother’s place in Kuruman, Northern Cape on Thursday, 05 August 2021.
The brother of the suspect who lives in Kuruman was allegedly informed about the incident by the suspect.
“The matter was eventually reported to the brother’s landlord and the police in Kuruman leading to discovery of the victim’s body. The suspect was then arrested and taken to Ganyesa where he is expected to appear in the local Magistrates’ Court.”
